Case Study: Complying with Health and Safety Regulations

How company directors used Sentient’s services to comply with their health and safety regulations.

the background

The holding company directors of a research organisation required a full Health and Safety audit. The audit needed to ensure both their business and sister company’s business complied with Health and Safety Regulations.

the challenge

The two companies operated independently and geographically of each other, which posed a challenge. The client approached Sentient to undertake audits to confirm what the levels of health and safety compliance were in place at each company, assessing the differences and necessary measures.

the solution

The solution was to undertake rigorous health and safety audits at each site, which helped identify any differences and where changes need to be made specific to each site.

Sentient has also delivered theInstitute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely® qualification to a supervisor who successfully passed after attending the 3-day courses delivered at Sentient’s IOSH approved training facilities.

the result

Changes were put in place, targeting each site’s and each business’s needs. Senior management are working on identifying and using common health and safety procedures, practices, documentation and systems in order to streamline processes across both organisations.

Sentient continues to provide on-going support to the organisation with visits, telephone and email support, and advice.
