A popular Activity Centre was transitioning to becoming an independent company. They required assistance in ensuring the business was ready to stand alone and responsible in all aspects of health and safety toward its employees.

There was an initial confusion on the part of the Activity Centre’s management. Confusion toward their new responsibilities and why there were new requirements placed upon staff, which were a consequence of the business’s restructure.
There existed a lack of indepth knowledge, both of health and safety requirements, and of regulatory responsibilities. This needed to be resolved; and an outsourcing third-party such as Sentient was best placed to do so.

Sentient provided on-going, progressive support for the organisation. Senior managers successfully gained Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely® qualifications by attending 3-day courses delivered at Sentient’s IOSH approved training facilities.
Hence, staff have become significantly more aware of the legal requirements and duties now befitting the company, and management have rapidly moved to develop systems and implement control measures.
Together with training, regular visits, technical support and advice provided by Sentient, as well as conducting in-depth health and safety audits and site safety tours; the Activity Centre has achieved a very positive progression.

Through the organisations senior management team and all the staff, the drive and motivation has been exceptional, and they have made a major step change in all their Health and Safety operating systems, safe working procedures and safety culture.
