Health & Safety
We are a large paper mill and experienced a serious accident on the premises. Underwriters said we had to quickly put in place new health and safety precautions to keep our insurance policy. We employed Sentient and Romero Risk Management to look at our business and they had a plan ready within a week! They ran a full two week training programme with us, including staff training and business practices. We passed the final inspection and it’s great to see the team have embraced the new safety culture. We then retained Sentient and Romero Risk Management for three years until our new safety manager arrived.
Risk Management
When we found out an ex-employee had downloaded a spreadsheet containing client and personal data, breaching our data protection, Sentient provided us guidance and resources to handle the situation. Sentient drafted for us an email explaining the outcomes to the individual, we sent it and they promptly admitted guilt. Sentient then drafted a declaration of undertakings, protecting us in-case of another breach, and we were very happy with their level of service.
Termination and Employment Law
Sentient were incredibly useful at advising us on managing a difficult episode involving a disciplinary hearing of a staff member. They presided over the investigation as well as the hearing, helping us enact dismissal for gross misconduct. Because of the fair procedure, there were no grounds for a claim. Sentient were excellent throughout and the situation has since been resolved.
Disciplinary and Mediation
Upon the loss of our HSE Manager, we required an immediate advisor to help us through an ISO audit. Sentient supported our team during the full audit process, they developed a strategy on how to integrate HSE into our business processes, and provided training to senior members of our team. We are very happy to say we passed the audit, maintained certification and continue to use Sentient’s services to train our workforce.
Training and Health & Safety
Sentient were helpful when we needed to improve our processes and premises as requested by insurers. They provided BCI guidance, and we implemented a compliance plan. We’ve met our insurance requirements and will continue to work with Sentient.
